Introduction
Corruption is the misuse of Government powers for private gain.Corruption in India is a consequence of the tie between Bureaucracy, politics and criminals.Corruption may be defined as an act of bribery or misuse of public position or power for the fulfilment of selfish motives or to gain personal gratifications. Corruption can be defined as "Misuse of authority as a result of consideration of personal gain which need not be monetary".
Corruption on Politics
Political corruption is worst in India. Corruption weakens the motive of politics and damages the value of law in the society. In the recent days,maximum criminals are involved with politics and chose the politics as profession. In many areas of the country, there are particular political association of criminals regarding election.
Voters are threatenedfor voting. They are forced to vote the candidate without their consent. Some politicians obstructthe voters from going to vote.The powerful politicians obstructs especially the weak and poorpeople in the society.Thetribal’s, dalitshave to suffer from the torture by the powerful politician. The condition of the rural woman of the country are also obstructed to vote freely.
There is a class of politicianwho promise to give many things and promise to improve the condition of living of the weaker sections before the vote. Even such politicians assure to give employment to the young qualified students before winning in the election. They promise that if he/she will win, he/she will decrease their pain and suffering and improve their financial condition. In reality, after winning in the vote, the politicians forget the promises and he or she torture the common people by using the power of the chair.
Corruption on Judiciary
The judicial system is fabian, hard and expensive. Commonpeopleare not able tounderstand the system and procedures of Judiciary.Litigation takes money and time to be carried on.as litigation. Rich people get the profit and advantages. Some judges interfere unethically on the judgments for gaining more money from the respective party. In some cases, judges even take advantages by entering intophysical relationship with women to direct an order in her interest. The media has reported some of these incidences.Ultimately no steps are being taken against such corrupted actions.Judges have the power to punish anyoneby declaring contempt of Court, if anyone arises voice against such corruption.
There are some rules that judges cannot be punished easily. Judges cannot be charged like others through FIR. The permission of the Chief Justice is required to start an investigation against a Judge. After appointed as judge, he or she can only be replaced through a critical impeachment process. The houses of the Parliament, the LokSabha and the RajyaSabha, are involved with the process of replacing the judge.
Most of the cases take long time.In the Courts, there is not enough staffs in the Court. The system unnecessarily makes the Judicial process more complicated and expandthe duration of the time. There is no specific limit for extension of the time limit.Sometimes, the Judges also take bribes to make the judgement in the favour of a particular party. According to the media reports, lower courts often make an order by taking bribes from the respective party. But the situation changes in a radical way when it comes to the higher courts. There are lots of pending cases in Indian courts. Generally speaking, bribes play a vital role to continue the process of Indian Judiciary. Judges are even influenced by the party to grant bail in exchange of personal gain.
Corruption on Education
The quality of education in India has increased from earlier days. But the systemof education has decreased and getting bad. There is atradition in educational institutions to take bribes in the name of donation. Many schools and colleges take donation from 10 to 15 lakhs. The children are not deprived from taking education directly butindirectly they are deprived from taking education on the basis of their merit. Even the value of intelligence and marks are reducing day by day.
Generally speaking, the value of Entrance Exam is decreasingin some of the institutions of India. But this is another way to get money.Even there is a growing business of private educational companies in Indiarelated to entrance tests. In Indian, the marks and grade system is a major problem.There is a number of teachers who are continuing the business in the name of private tuition. They take more extra money from the students in private coaching centre. The same teachers pays less attention to the students in school or college.
In India, there are some institutes which provide the certificates in exchange of money to the students. Those institutions allow the students to teach in the exams. Before realizing if it is ethical or unethical, the students are being habituated with this practice. The institutions are only concern with the profit and money, which they get from the students. These institutions have no intention to improve or brighten up the future of the students. Thus, those corrupted educational institutions are damaging the essence of education system.
