Selection Process for the Bihar Judiciary Exam
The selection process for the Bihar Judiciary Exam consists of three main stages: the Preliminary Examination, the Mains Examination, and the Personal Interview. The structure of the selection process is consistent with various judicial service examinations. Here’s a breakdown of each stage:
1. Preliminary Examination:
The Preliminary Exam is conducted for all applicants who submit their applications. This exam consists of multiple-choice questions across two papers:
- Paper I: General Awareness and Current Affairs
- Paper II: Law
2. Mains Examination:
Candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Exam will advance to the Mains Exam, which includes:
- 5 Compulsory Papers
- 5 Optional Papers (Candidates must select 3 subjects from the optional papers.)
3. Interview:
A select number of candidates who qualify in both the Preliminary and Mains Exams will be invited for the Personal Interview. This interview is conducted by a committee appointed by the Bihar Public Service Commission.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 22 years old, with a maximum age limit of 35 years. For women and physically disabled candidates, the upper age limit is extended to 40 years.

Interview Stage
